Daud & DJ are a father & son duet. They have been writing, producing, & performing for long family years since DJ played the drums in a middle school band in San Francisco. Daud wrote scores for documentaries & produced dance music & electronica for a local rave scene in San Francisco’s 2000’s. On the local LA & Irvine arena, DJ (Daud Junior) has been a DJ on his own & has produced tracks & remixes of many a dance genre & for few local Hip Hop artist. “Bliss of the Blue” tracks are the first unripe fruit of many years of collaboration.

Our Music:

Although Daud & DJ play skillfully many acoustic instruments (DJ is a percussionist & Daud a vocalist & multi-instrumentalist), as a duet they produce electronic music. For them, every electronic tool becomes therefore a creative choice & not an unavoidable fate. If we could define their music, we would call it, “The Soul in the Machine.” They believe that the blues coming out of computer-chips stains the listener’s tears with a profound and nostalgic black color. And yet, although they want to write Contempt RnB, Future Bass, Dub Techno or Pop, usually, they never succeed. Something else always comes out: the soul in every music machine is as ineffable as the soul in every human body. Thus, it up to you as a listener to define their musical fate. Or better, if you hate all useless definition as much as Daud & DJ do, just walk with loud headphones into this bittersweet flow of their music, listen & enjoy.
